Privacy policy

The short version
City of Fighters runs Tekken tournaments for the City of Fighters Twitch stream. There are no player accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no trackers and no adverts. We only collect what a tournament needs, and never sell or share it.
What we collect when you register
You log in and register with your start.gg account (see start.gg's privacy policy). From your entry we copy only your gamer tag and sponsor prefix (shown as your team) into this app. When you log in, we also keep your start.gg user number, which events you joined, and a login session for 90 days after your last visit. We never see your start.gg password and don't keep your start.gg access token.
- Gamer tag and team: shown publicly in the app, on the leaderboard, in the bracket and on the Twitch stream.
- Photo and email (optional): only if you give them to an organizer, who adds them in the control panel. The photo is shown in the app and on stream; the email is seen only by the organizers and used to send you a winner banner if you win. Nothing else: no newsletters, no marketing.
- Your results (matches, games and placing) are public, like any tournament result.
This is stored in our database at Supabase. The database cannot be read directly; the app only reaches it through checked functions, and emails are only ever returned to a logged-in organizer.
How long we keep it
Players are kept until the organizers create the next tournament. A finished tournament's gamer tags, teams and results stay public under Past tournaments (never emails). Want yours removed sooner? Ask an organizer, or open an issue on the project's GitHub page (don't post your email there; just say which gamer tag).
The winner email
When a tournament ends, the champion is sent one email with a winner banner image. It is sent through a Gmail account of the organizers, so Google handles that one email (see Google's privacy policy). Other players receive no email.
What is stored on your device
Only if you choose Allow saving on the first visit, the app keeps in your browser's local storage:
- Organizer login: a random login code (not the password) that expires after 24 hours. Players never have one.
- Small settings: that you hid the “Install the app” tip, and that the OBS help was already shown.
- Your storage choice: kept even if you choose “Don't save anything”, so you aren't asked every visit.
If you choose Don't save anything, the app still works; organizers just log in again on every visit. The installed app also keeps an offline copy of its own pages (no personal data). The desktop app stores the same small settings on your own computer.

Other services
The app is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub receives standard request details such as your IP address and browser type, and may log them for security (GitHub's privacy statement). To stop password guessing, the database briefly remembers the internet address of wrong organizer logins and deletes it after 15 minutes. The stream itself is on Twitch, which has its own privacy policy.
Children
If you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian before registering. A gamer tag can be any nickname; there's no need to use your real name.
Changes and contact
If what the app collects changes, this page and the first-start screen are updated and the date above changes. Questions: ask the organizers on the stream, or open an issue on the project's GitHub page.
